What We Do

The Mission

Spreading God’s Fame and Training Others to Do the Same

“Therefore, I will give praise to you among the Gentiles, and I will sing to your name . . . Rejoice, O Gentiles, with his people…. Praise the Lord all you Gentiles, and let all the peoples praise him.”—Romans 15:10-11

Church Planting

The city of Nairobi is a rapidly growing, strategic city with tremendous potential. Unfortunately within this city of 3.5 million plus souls, there are only a handful of faithful, gospel loving, Christ proclaiming, doctrinally strong, bible preaching churches. The prosperity gospel, man-centered theology, signs and wonders obsessed charismatics, doctrinal decay in once faithful churches, and worse are prevalent throughout Kenya.

The city of Nairobi creates many challenges for church planters because overcrowded third world living conditions, eroding infrastructures, and grinding poverty often exist alongside first world real estate prices. Transportation is provided by worn out old mini buses and larger passenger buses that frequently spar with the ever increasing personal vehicles in the congested thoroughfares of the city.

As the Lord leads, we desire to assist nationals in their efforts to plant well established bible-believing churches pastored by national men. This will take the form of providing resources and theological training. We also seek to network with and assist nationals as they seek to plant and pastor churches.

“Through the church the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places.”—Ephesians 3:10

Ministerial Training

EABSTA significant aspect of our ministry is devoted to theological training programs. There is very little affordable college-level ministerial training in Kenya. In cooperation with Nairobi area churches, we have started East Africa Baptist School of Theology, a quality church-based theological training model. The Lord is blessing our efforts and we are excited about the potential of this ministry. We will continue to explore methods of theological training that will fit the Kenyan context as we work with national pastors, churches, and our ministry team.

With God’s help, the partnership of Kenyan churches and pastors, and the support of our partnering churches and friends, we are burdened to entrust God’s Word to faithful disciples and to fully establish churches in his Word to the glory of God.

National churches, pastors, and our ministry team are working together to evangelize the lost, entrust God’s Word to faithful disciples, and to fully establish churches in His Word to the glory of God. We believe God has providentially done amazing things to prepare this time for this endeavor.

“Be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.”—2 Timothy 2:1-7
